Répétition pour la fin du monde

2004

Répétition pour la fin du monde is a sound and robotics performance where the public is being held captive.

In this performance the idea of a finite-state piece is set aside to focus on setting up an “end-of-the-world” context where the public is confronted with a vibrating metallic structure. The noise generated by the movements of the latter are captured and remixed in real time in order to create a sound environment that recalls the relation between humans and technology, the fragility of computer systems but also the intimidation factor that these can bear for a majority of individuals.
